  • GCL SUN Invited to the 2024 Distributed Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Innovation Summit

    2024-04-25

On April 25th, the "2024 Distributed Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Innovation Summit" hosted by Polaris Solar Photovoltaic Network was grandly convened in Nanjing, Jiangsu. GCL SUN, as a leading domestic residential photovoltaic enterprise, was invited to attend and deliver a keynote speech, collaborating with seasoned government and corporate representatives to discuss opportunities in the residential PV industry, corporate strategies, and the vision for "dual carbon" development, thereby accelerating the transformation in distributed photovoltaic and storage.

According to data released by the National Energy Administration in February, China achieved a new historical high in distributed photovoltaic installations, reaching 96.286 GW in 2023. As the province with the most comprehensive, largest-scale, and highest concentration of photovoltaic enterprises, Jiangsu has become China’s true second largest distributed PV market, boasting the highest new installations of commercial and industrial distributed photovoltaics nationwide and the second highest in residential installations. In response to challenges such as grid integration, Jiangsu encourages distributed PV coupled with storage and explores market-based transactions through "wall-crossing" electricity sales, leading the way towards a new phase of high-quality development in distributed photovoltaics.

The summit, themed "Journey Together with Photovoltaic and Storage, Building a New Chapter," gathered representatives from government agencies, power grid companies, associations, key photovoltaic and storage equipment businesses, and distributors to explore the current status and policy trends of distributed PV in Jiangsu, the challenges in distributed storage, new energy consumption analysis, innovations in distributed PV models, investment prospects, and risk prevention in residential PV. The discussions aimed to promote high-quality development of distributed PV and storage applications in Jiangsu.

As a key provincial market for GCL SUN’s residential PV, Jiangsu has robust policy support, an excellent development environment, and abundant rooftop resources. Lu Yang, Marketing Manager of GCL SUN Jiangsu Branch, spoke on the market prospects and opportunities for residential PV, as well as GCL SUN's business layout and platform advantages. Facing challenges such as limited capacity and time-based electricity pricing, GCL SUN leverages the group’s extensive 34-year background and expertise in the power and energy sector to innovate residential PV product systems and business models. Future plans include integrating storage, hybrid photovoltaic-thermal solar (PVT) systems, charging piles, battery swapping, supercharging services, and perovskite PV modules into a diverse business strategy to create comprehensive energy application scenarios, shaping competitiveness that transcends market cycles and bringing green energy benefits to thousands of households.

To ensure a win-win cooperation with channel partners, GCL SUN provides differentiated products and technologies, a variety of business models and solutions, and a multi-level empowerment system, helping distributors remain competitive in a challenging market environment. GCL SUN is seizing new opportunities in the rapidly evolving residential PV industry, continuously enhancing productivity, strengthening solution and product service innovation, contributing to the construction of new energy systems and power systems. GCL SUN also looks forward to collaborating with more partners to co-author a new chapter in the residential photovoltaic industry.
